Hi. Looking to upgrade my gpu

Mypc :
I7 4790k
Gigabyte z97x gaming 7
8gb ddr3 ram
Gtx 550 ti
650w coolmaster powersuply
Arctic freezer 13 cpu fan

Was looking to get the saphire radeon HD 7950 3gb with boost edition.

Is that a good choice? Would i be able to play games on ultra settings and get lile 60 fps. I was a bit concerned because it has a very low core clock speed compared to other cards think its at 850 MHz where are cards are like over 900 or 1k. Would this lower gaming performance. Im on a budget so cant get top end cards. Need some suggestions.

The 270x - £100
Hd 7950 with boost - £ 100
Gtx 580 phantom 3gb - £100

Those three or other suggestions thanks .

Out o those cards the 7950 benches higher (http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/high_end_gpus.html) but only just... I'm always a fan of "new stuff" of I would probably choose the 270X
If you're playing with only one screen you should be able to set you're setting pretty high but it depends on the game that your playing. You should be able to play with at least 30 fps (I don't like the "must have 60 FPS mindset"). Plus it will be easier for if one day you have some extra cash about to by another 270x to run in Crossfire. then you also wont need to crossfire bridge.
Also I wouldn't worry about the clock speeds as GPU's are like CPU these days where its not all about the clock speeds anymore.

I'd personally recommend dropping from the 270x to the 270 and grabbing one of those - very easy to overclock and the difference in performance between the 270 and 270x is pretty negligible. Only time I would recommend the 270x is if you have no intention to overclock the card as it will be slightly better at stock.

Alternatively, look in to maybe spending an extra 20 quid and grab yourself a GTX 660 Ti - a pretty solid choice as well.

Unfortunately i don't know how the GTX 580 stacks up against the 660 Ti, but if you're looking in that price range I'd recommend:

660 TI = R9 270 ( overclocked ) > R9 270X > R9 270

They are all a solid choice for 1080p gaming.
