So I had Windows 8 and and long story short it wouldn't start up and I installed Linux as it seemed to be the only way to completely remove Windows 8 and still partially he able to use my desktop. When I went to install Windows 7 using a disc it just says that my Disc 0 Partition 1(my 1 TB Hardrive) can't have Windows 7 installed on it because it says it must be installed to a partition formatted as NTFS. So my question is how do I uninstall ubuntu, reformat the hard drive, and install Windows 7?

Solution
When you install Windows 7, after booting from the DVD and going though everything you get to where you select the drive you want to install it on.

There should be something that says "Advanced" in the bottom right of that screen. Once you press that the Delete option will show. Then just select all the partitions and delete them until its one Big "Unallocated" partition. Then click on that and install.

If you want to partition it out (Like if it was a 1TB drive i'd split it 50/50) and then save all your documents do the other partition this way if you ever have to reinstall windows again the C Drive will ONLY have programs which you have to reinstall anyways and not your personal files which will be untouched on the other partition...
