I currently have an i5 4670k with a H87 chipset. I purchased the CPU for overclocking but still haven't been able because of the motherboard chipset restrictions. I'm not to bothered about overclocking as I'm currently looking to get a new GPU (GTX 970) but I was wondering these three questions:

Should I replace my H87 chipset with a Z chipset motherboard?
If "Yes", should I get a Z87 or Z97 motherboard?
Also are there any specific recommendations you have for a motherboard around the £100 mark? (lower would be preferred)

i5 4670k
Gigabye H87-HD3
Corsair Vengeance LP 2 x 4GB
MSI Twin Frozr GTX 970
Kingston HyperX 3K 120GB SSD
WD 1TB Caviar Blue
Corsair Carbide Spec-03
Corsair RM650

Well some motherboards (the more expensive ones) will tend to run cooler. But if you are not in a rush and can save more money, my best pick is the Asus Z97 Maximum Hero VII. Excellent features and probably the best overclocking motherboard for LGA 1150 IMO.
If you purchased an unlocked CPU and always wanted to overclock. I don,t see a reason why not to upgrade to a Z series chipset. I recommend a Z97, try to stay away from MSI due to poor QC, although their Dragon logo is enticing. ;)

Around that price range, I recommend the Z97-A if it is not too expensive where you are based.

You have bought the OC processor and a non OC capable board a big mistake so if you want to OC the processor then get the Z87 or Z97 both will work with your CPU as Z97 is newer and supports haswel refresh processors so i will say go for Z97 board.
This is one of my favorite board and will fit under your budget.

For less price this one.

Do any motherboards have limits? I was looking to clock my CPU at around 4.2Ghz and was wondering whether there will be any barriers. Also I like the look of the GA-Z97-X because of the colour scheme and SLI-ready but I can't afford it any time soon. Is it worth buying a cheaper board with at least the same capabilities or waiting to get the Gigabye gaming one.
