Hi guys,

Here's my build atm:

Since I'm going to overclock I was thinking of getting water cooling. I just want recommendations of all in one closed loop water coolers to avoid getting too technical. Could I get something good for under $150 or even under $100 that would let me overclock the i5 4690k to ~4.6GHz? Also is it possible to cool the GPU either with air or water cooling and is this necessary?

Thanks

A big air cooler as suggested will be just as good and probably quieter but it might interfere with tall ram and you may not fit it in a small case. If you want to cool your gpu as well you will need a gpu water block, the only all in ones that can be expanded to have a gpu as well are the swiftech h220 and h220x, they are both great coolers. You wont get one for 100 dollars tho and waterblocks are not cheap either

When it comes to closed water vs air, the temps are about comparable. The closed systems tend to be a little louder cause you have the pump and fans going. I prefer using a closed system like the Corsair H100i and then putting on some quiet fans. It is thin enough that you don't need Static pressure fans and can run the fans as low as 800RPM and still get great cooling.

For air cooling Noctura is pretty rocking, tho i still like close loops for a little better cooling. Just switch out the fans with the thinner h100 for a little less RPM for less noise.

I agree with Blackbird, the U14S is a great air cooler. It's a great choice if you don't want a huge heatsink in your case and it performs very well.

As far as water cooling goes, I would be looking at an H220X or an H240X. They beat out every CLC on the market in their respective sizes. If you can't get one of these, then go with the U14S.

Not for a radiator because I think I'm going to get the Noctua NH-U14S and upgrade to water cooling later because of my budget. I was talking about fans for the case. Sorry should have specified.
