So for some reason my disk keeps filling itself up and I have no idea why. I already deleted all my system backups and to start off with my max disk allocation for backups was set to 0 bytes. Please help, I am totally lost.

Agreed, there can be a number of reasons it is filling up, be it with Temp files, updates, ect.

We need a bit more information like how big the hard drive is, what do you do to clear it.. how much room do you have left when you clear it, ect.

Hi Madb

Please download and run this program. http://www.uderzo.it/main_products/space_sniffer/index.html
It esentially will show you which files are the largest on your harddrive. Once you figured out what is so big, then you can start thinking about fixing the problem.

More help can be found here: http://www.howtogeek.com/113012/10-best-free-tools-to-analyze-hard-drive-space-on-your-windows-pc/

Good luck,

This is my precise problem. I don't know what it's filling itself with. I'm scanning my computer for viruses right now. I googled it and a lot of people had a similar problems where the system was filling itself with old backups. However, I never activated my backup creator (whatever it's called) and the disk allocation for backups was set to 0 bytes. Further, I clicked the delete all backups button and that didn't free up space at all.

From that analysis it seems like your Steam is probably updating your games and the new updates tend to make you run out of space. Many people have this same problem. In steam you can back your games up that you are not currently using to another drive and restore them later when you need them. I recommend you create a backup for the games that you are not currently playing. I store unused games on steam on my D drive which is a large backup drive and keep my current games on my C 256GB ssd.

Hope this helps,
Gabor
