Hello,

A few weeks ago my PC started randomly freezing and to get it working again I had to manually restart it. Mostly when it freezes and I restart it, it freezes even before starting up. Power button blinks (as normal) but I don't hear the usual beep and the first screen (The screen that shows up right after the PC boots, and it gives me the option to open BIOS) doesn't show up. Also there's a red light below the power button that blinks when the PC isn't frozen and, I believe, shows CPU activity, but when I restart (or boot) the red light blinks rapidly then stops after a few seconds, and there's just blackness in my monitor and it acts as my PC has just been shut down (at first it it shows the black screen then falls asleep, as usual when I shut down my PC and my monitor is still on). When I press the manual restart button the power button blinks and PC does nothing. Only choice is to unplug the power supply. When I finnaly get it working I reupdate drivers, start a PC virus scan, use CCleaner, even tried a clean Windows 7 reinstall (formatting discs and all) and nothing worked. I opened up my PC case and everything looks fine. When I try to run a Safe Mode there's a blue screen (of death) that says about an error of some kind I can't remember but it stops at the blues screen and I need to restart my PC manually. But there's a blue screen that I do remember and it comes up when Windows Startup Repair launches, the blue screen says IRQL_NOT_EQUAL_OR_LESS and again stops and I need to restart manually (it does it, even after I reinstall windows). I always used my PC the same way but something got into it a few weeks ago. The only "unusuall" thing I was doing was downloading Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, but I don't think it could've done something.

I don't know what to do. I dug through the internet to find a solution but couldn't.

Sorry for my English (not the first language) and my slim understanding of PCs.

Edit: I also noticed that it mostly occurs when watching Youtube videos or my PC is left idle.

My motherboard is Asus P5K. (I think)

I didn't listen to my PC, but I'll try to listen when the next freeze occurs.

There are no codes. Everything looks normal when it boots.

When I reinstalled windows I downloaded and installed the new graphics card drivers but nothing else.

It's strange that it began when I had my older windows 7 ultimate installation (it was normal for about 6 months).
And I need to find out what the red blinking light below the power means. If it shows HDD activity then I guess it's done for.
