Is it worth waiting for the prices of my proposed build components to drop?

When I first put it together on the site it was closer to $750 but I was waiting for a second opinion of a friend and missed out on some deals.

I went with these parts bc all I'm going to be doing is non multiplayer gaming at medium to high graphics. I didn't need the best of the best for ultra high settings but I did also want this to last a good amount of time before I need to upgrade anything. So basically everything I chose was pretty much the average stuff I would need to be able to play games for the foreseeable future.

So 2 questions : 1) Is this a decent first time build? And 2) what are the chances that the prices will drop significantly come black Friday/cyber Monday?

If they're not gong to drop significantly I'm just going to go ahead and get it since I'm very anxious to get this rig up and running. So any help or advice you guys can offer I would really appreciate it.

And also a great shoutout to this site for all the helpful guides that helped me choose my components.

Thank you,

Bobby

That is up to your store, there is always that chance, but without any of us working for Newegg or other computer stores, no way of knowing what specials there will be.

It sucks to wait i know. :)
1. I can't see your parts list, it is marked as private.
2. Waiting will always bring lower prices. But, perhaps not by much. If you have a need now, shop now.
You always run the risk of not finding the specific parts you want in stock.
If you are not picky about parts, there might be some good sales though.

Can't view it but here is the simple answer i can provide.

First off there will ALWAYS be something better 6 months from now, so if you keep putting it off waiting for something like the 980 to come down in price, in 6 months there will be a 990 and 990 (respectively).

Second of all, there are always deals on Black Friday, the question is will they be the deals on the parts that YOU want? In my experience it is rare for a retailer to drop the price of current top of the market items too much on that day, instead they take old stock or stock that has been outdated (like the 770) and mark it down. That or they will take a 385 dollar card, say it is really 450and mark it down to $380 and say you are saving 70 bucks.

For me, I usually have 5 different places that I look for deals, if i see one i will pounce but i only give it like a month if I really am ready to build and I have the budget.

I would see about upping your processor to the i5 4690. Everything else looks good for a medium gaming system, tho if you want to make it a litlte more high end, get a NVidia GTX 970, it is much better than the 290 and is among the top of the class now when it comes to video cards. The 290 will get you by, but I figured i'd upgrade your CPU/GPU for a little more UMPH.

Getting the i5 4690 is only a little bit faster. You probably won't gain any extra fps at all.
Intel Core i5-4440 should be fine.

Thanks for the advice and kind words on the build. I'm glad to know I have a decent build. So now my second question is: Is there a chance that the prices of the components I've chosen will drop for black Friday/ cyber Monday? If they will then I'll refrain from buying until then. If not then I'm anxious to build it so I will probably buy it sometime in the next week or so. As always any advice on this is welcome
