Hi, I just want to know if a Blower type is really needed for a GTX 970 SLI build for an M-ATX case. I really don't like the aesthetics of the blower type GTX 970 since Nvidia didn't release their own. I just want to know if the heat will be tolerable when using a non-reference GPU on an SLI M-ATX Build.

What case will you be using?
The problem with sli and M-ATX motherboards is that there can be no separation of the graphics cards. The top card will run hot and get starved for cooling air with a fan type cooler.
A blower cooler for the top card is best. I suppose a fan type cooler would be ok for the bottom card, but even then a blower will get hot air out quicker.
Yes, EVGA does have blower coolers for the GTX970:

The coolers are not the excellent titan coolers to save costs.
But... since Maxwell runs with less power, they will be cool enough.

It might get stacked right on top of each other since I'm gonna do an M-ATX build and its gonna be on a Maximus gene VII. If only nvidia released their own version of the GTX970 I'm not gonna have a problem like this.

That's actually what I was thinking, but I thinks the non-reference card will go to waste since I believe SLI config will use the lowest GPU that you're using. I'm actually leaning on using a Palit version of the blower type, since EVGA is really rare in my country.

I think I'll go with the non-reference Palit card since I don't want to compromise my build just for aesthetics, anyway money wise. GTX 970 reference cards cost $100 US dollars more. thanks ;)
