Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 @ 2.40GHz
xfx 6950 2gb single cooler
5GB ddr2 400mhz
400 W PSU

Thats my pc build and im having issues, just installed assassin creed 2 and was able to play at high settings 45-60fps, but it started to crash the game it happend several times the heating was GPU at 65 max and cpu at 55-60 and i was cooling at 50%, i used lower settings but still the same, searched on internet no help, than decided to remove one ram (it was 6gb at beggin') cause 2*2gb -400 and 2*1gb but one of these 1gb was 333 and all others 400 so i removed just in case, than it happend again no signal it freezes remove the power cable to start over i'm not sure what im supposed to do, is this psu enough for my build ? are stock coolers enough ? (my case has 2 extra cooler btw) , I use as monitor 32 led tv 1366*768 (60hz).

Last night i overclocked my cpu to 3.0 and was amazed with it no over 55-65 C on cpu temp. ,frames stuck at 60 never droped, but i bios defaulted today cause i was having issues, than i was thinking that my cpu is bottlenecking my gpu, kind of obvious. btw temp on idle are just fine.

Sorry for my bad english just trying to give as much info as i could, just some1 help me by telling me what should i upgrade or change, and can i overclock this pc or not.

It will depend on the make/model of the PSU you have. The +12V rail's amp and watt rating in particular. That may be causing issues with the OC. But it could just be that your OC is unstable. Drop back to default values and see if it still crashes.

So i installed bf3 and it runs it for like 30 sec than i use signal and after some seconds it crashes, so is it for sure the powersupply cause im very limited on budget I cant buy something that wont fix it, so is this psu gona fix it for sure ?

i was monitoring my gpu when it runs at 50-60% games it wont crash but at 80% + this happens
