I heard PowerColor 280x produce a lot of coil whine while Asus tends to do less coil whine, what about other brands like Saphire, XFX, Gigabyte and MSI?
I have an Asus 270x DirectCU2, bought it second hand 9 months ago, it was 3 months old probably by a bitcoin miner. For curiousity i tried to put it on sale for same price as i bought it which is 150€, same day i got a buyer that came and tested it and wants to buy it, but i need to get another GPU first, im looking for a second hand 280x or 290 which are really cheap here. Im from Slovenia, a small country with heavy EU taxes which make everything cost more than in USA.
The prices for second hand 280x are from 140€ to 180€, more than 10 of them at sale now, many of those were used for mining i suspect.
Can also get a Gigabyte r9 290 reference for 180€.
Im looking for a silent card with low coil whine, which brand should i be focusing on beside Asus? What brand of 280x do you suggest me to buy?
I was bitcoin miner myself back in the days so i know how durable GPU's are if they have good cooling. Seen them work 24/7 at 100% load and overclocked for years and still work as new aftewards. That's why im willing to risk and buy seconds hand high-end GPU.
