I am having troubles getting my upgraded rig to work properly. It powers off without a bluescreen when im playing games like Dota2 and CS:GO. I also tested it with non multiplayer titles and it seems to work just fine. Only on multiplayer titles i am getting problems.

My Rig:
GPU: Zotac 970 GTX OC (Not the AMP! version) (former RADEON XFX5850 Black Edition)
CPU: Intel i7 920 (vcore 1.25 bclk 180mhz)
PSU: Corsair WX550VR (80+ but 4,5 Years old!!!)
RAM: 3 x DDR3 2GB Sticks
HDD: 2 x WDC WD20EARX
Mainboard: ASUS P6TD Deluxe
USB Devices: 5-6 plugged in

I tested the heatproduction of my rig and it seems just fine. Under Prime95 i get a CPU temperature of 80°C and on furmark i get 73°C for the GPU.

But now im wondering if my PSU has enough Power.

Thanks for solutions beforehand:)
(Sorry for my english its not the best)

It could be the PSU, I'm not 100% certain but I would probably try another PSU if you can. If you think you're just gonna go buy one, get a 650w EVGA Supernova G1 if you can afford it. They have a 10 year warrenty. It definately won't hurt getting one even if you don't need it.

The Mainboard has a LGA1336 Socket so i have 6 slots to put ram in. Adding one more would make the system even more unstable:D but i should have written that in the description.

550W should be more than enough for that system.

The temperature on your CPU is more likely the problem; 80C is way above normal for that generation of i7s.

Does the system power off and stay powered off for a few moments (e.g., you're temporarily unable to restart it)? That would be a dead giveaway that it's overheating.

What are you temperatures like at idle? And is the CPU overclocked at all?

Its restarting immediately after it powers off. My idle temperature is about 42°C
