Can I run games at higher resolution than 1360x768 on a 1360x768 TV?

I have a 32" TV which I can use as a monitor: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16889147001

Since it's a 32" and only 1360x768, the pixel density is pretty low and pixels are noticeable. It doesn't look all that great for gaming. Is there a way I can force games to run at a higher resolution as long as it maintains the 85:48 aspect ratio? For example, I could increase the resolution by 25% and have it run at 1700x960 which would be 960p. This would result in greater pixel density and better image quality..

Is there any way I can force games to run at this resolution?

It will depend on what other resolutions are offered by your monitor and if Windows has a specific driver for the TV/monitor. But any resolution other than its native resolution will not look good. LCD displays are not like the old CRTs. They only look good in the resolution the panel is made for.

Wow! I guess I haven't been keeping up with Nvidia enough since I switched to AMD. That's one aspect of the new Maxwell technology I missed. That, along with the high performance/low power, I think AMD has some catching up to do with the Maxwell equipped Nvidia cards. I wonder what the hit on performance is with DSR enabled? I am seriously thinking of selling my 290X and getting a 980.

I wish I had a 980 or 970 to use this. Unfortunately I only have a 760.

With the latest drivers, it has been enabled on Kepler as well as Maxwell cards. You're welcome.
