Newly built PC not connecting to internet

Greetings, I have just now built a brand new PC, and I can not get it tot connect to the Internet. I have it plugged in with and Ethernet cable. I know the cable works, because I was using on a device a few minutes ago. I'm not sure if I have the drivers installed for Ethernet or not, but I don't currently have another computer that has Internet access to get them. Any help?

Do you have a seperate Ethernet card? Or is it built into the motherboard. If it's built into the motherboard, the disc that came with it. Does it contain the drivers and have you installed those?

Worst case scenario, get a phone, plug it into your computer through USB, go USB tethering in the connections settings, go to the Motherboard manufacturer's website and download drivers there.
