Humor me please. Can you put an am2+ procsser in an am2 socket CPU world and research says you can I just want to double check. I know i should upgarde to a better and newer pc but I dont have the money to spend on a new system

Depends on your motherboard and CPU.
Check the motherboard manufacturers website for the CPU support list for this motherboard.
Also check the required BIOS revision.
