Weird problem with my internet connection

Hey everyone! So I need some help with this problem I have been having since I build my computer from scratch.
Basically, I seem to be losing internet connection randomly every now and then momentarily. For example, If I am playing League of Legends almost every time I am in the loading screen the client crashes and says that I have lost connection, so I have to keep clicking reconnect to game, fail to connect numerous times, until I can finally connect again. Other times, at least once a game, at some point in the game I lose connection and I get a message saying "attempting to reconnect" which can last for a couple of minutes before I reconnect or drop out. Another case would be when I am playing World of Warcraft. Out of no where the game will crash and say that I got disconnected, and I will have to try to reconnect multiple times before actually successfully reconnecting.
Another major issue I have is with Windows update. because of my connection issue, whenever I attempt to check for windows updates, I get the windows error message/code "80072EFE". The only way to get by this issue for updating my windows is if I uninstall my internet/network drivers, and reinstall again. When I do that my new updates appear and the error message doesn't show. However, once I finish updating new updates, shut down my computer, or anything of that nature the issue occurs again, unable to check for updates, etc.
It is important to note though that my tiny network icon on my desktop home screen doesn't ever show that I have lost connection to the internet, even when the problems occur I've noticed that the icon shows that I always have "internet access".

personally, I have no clue what the heck is going on but I have narrowed down the possible causes in my mind for the problem to:
1) faulty motherboard
2) something blocking or causing limited access to internet or servers for the games or windows updates.

What's confusing though is that I have 2 other laptops, and 1 other wired connected desktop that do not have any similar issues. It is only this specific computer I build myself that has these connection troubles.

Some information about my computer:
Wired cable connection
Modem = Motorola SB 6141 (just bought this today)
Router = Asus AC-1200 (also bought this today)
Motherboard = Z77MA-g45
Speed Test results = 108.34 Mbps Download Speed / 10.95 Upload Speed
ISP = Time Warner Cable
Operating system = Windows 7
Light color shown at Ethernet port: Solid Orange, and a small green flashing light

And yes, I do have all the latest mobo/driver/gpu updates, to date

If there is anything else that I need to provide to help get faster support please let me know!

I have been considering buying a new modem (maybe the Motorola SB 6120) and a separate router (any suggestions?) assuming my connection problem is coming from that source.

bro I mentioned that it's a wired cable connection, and I don't understand what you mean by how I go online or play games. I have internet, but I occasionally get disconnected from it only on this desktop computer. It's windows firewall I haven't touched anything on the firewall settings.

I'm not sure about the modem firmware to be honest. How would I check that? I assumed my ISP (who provided me with the modem/router in the first place) automatically updates it from their end. The windows update servers can't be busy 24/7 because I can never update, I always get that error message. The only way I can update is if i uninstall my network driver, and then reinstall again which somehow allows me temporary access for a short time.

right here chief: http://us.msi.com/support/mb/Z77MAG45.html#down-driver&Win7%2064
It's the main MSI website.

doesn't sound like there are any download files for firmware according to this forum : http://forums.timewarnercable.com/t5/Connectivity/Can-I-update-my-TWC-modem-firmware-and-where-do-I-get-the/td-p/6535

Look in device manager under the Ethernet network. Which realtek model is it??

There's probably a later version of the LAN drivers on the Realtek site

What if you uninstall them and use the Windows LAN drivers??? Sometimes theyre better than the ones that are on the mobo maker's site lol

Just keep the MSI install file handy in case Windows doesnt install some. But I'm pretty sure it will

Hmmm I checked under device managers, but there was nothing called Ethernet network. There is a "network adapters" in which case it drops down to a "realtek PCIe GBE family controller" but I dont think that is it lol.

How do I get a windows LAN driver? And I already have all my drivers backed up in handy :))

might be best if you walk me through everything step by step, im not that savy when it comes to this sorta stuff.

Alright, so I just did what you said. Uninstalled it, restarted my computer, and then it showed the icon that my system was looking for drivers, but after it's automatic search it said "no drivers were found".
So I reinstalled my handy mobo drivers, and am now back here lol.

I tried that earlier, nothing happened it said my driver was up to date already.

Um no I don't say anything that says RT in my device manager.

I have a long time ago, I don't recall anything being different I think the problems continued regardless. I'm planning on going to the store tomorrow to purchase a new individual modem, new router, and new cable all together hoping that might solve the problem.

Nope nothing that says RT in device manager boss =/
And yes I tried to update drivers through device managers, it said my driver was already up to date.

Hopefully it should. Myself I dont use an ISP's modem either. Here theyre crap lol

Like you cant update its firmware.. Even tho it is a brand. Because it could bork it altogether. And its usually ISP specific

The wireless on most of the ISP's modems are pretty crappy. I'm on DSL tho not cable

And atm I'm using a TP-link modem/router dual band, and TP-link dual band USB wireless adapters

Not a bad brand at all. Well nothing has crapped out on me so far lol

I hear the same thing about ISP provided gateway modems dude they are crap, its a problem I can tell I use one lol. any suggestions on what I can get ? I was thinking motorola SB 6141 and some sort of AC router... but idk

I have no idea about cable modems dude never had one probably never will lol.

Wouldnt even know what one one looks like if I saw it lol

I think we can get it here now

But since we rent, I think we may need the landlords permission to do whatever they do to get it

hey bud, so I got bad news. I changed out my Modem sbg 6580 for a brand new Motorola SB 6141 and an Asus AC 1200 Router hoping that it would solve my problems. However it did not solve anything. My connection issues persist :(
