Hi all, I have never built a desktop PC before and after some research, have selected the following specs within my budget, as the current laptop I'm using is insufficient for gaming. The laptop I am currently using is overheating and the fps is very poor (running at 20 at best and sometimes going to 1 which means its unplayable).

Please could I have some advice on these specs and if they would work well for Final Fantasy XIV ARR.

Hi, those are the 'recommended' requirements that the game specified. The minimum that they have stated are: NVIDIA® Geforce® 8800 or higher, ATI Radeon™ HD 4770 or higher.

Apologies, just notices it should be AMD Radeon™ HD 7950 as recommended

Admirable

I was about to say ha, they wouldn't recommend a high end card from AMD while they recommend an older card from Nvidia. Anyways, your setup is very good, although your GPU is a weak GPU, do you have a budget in mind?

Sorry was a typo. Anyways the specs I have chosen come up to £649 minus the OS. My budget is really under £700, as I will be purchasing a monitor as well.
I am not looking to run the game in the max settings, I am just fed up of my current situation where its so hard to play if the FPS is so low on my laptop. My laptop has intel i5 2.67ghz with ATI Radeon HD5470

Another question: would Geforce GTX 660 be a better graphics card to choose over the 750ti and if so, what CPU fan is sufficient? Would the standard Intel CPU cooler fan be enough when paired with 500w PSU and Intel core i5 CPU?
