this may seem like a really stupid question to most people on here but how do i add another ssd to my system, i currently have a 240gb ssd and want to add another 240ssd. is it a case of plugging it in and thats it?
also how do i install things onto the new ssd, will it automatically start loading files onto it once my first one is full? or do i have to choose which one gets files loaded onto it at a time?

thanks

Just install the game on the hard drive. When you choose to download a game, you get the option to choose where you want to install it. You can move Steam and the games off the SSD if you want :

You should be able to cut and paste your games...
Depends on where you adding it to. If it is a laptop, you need to make sure you have space for another drive and if it support 2.5 inches drives.

If it is a desktop, check if you have a 2.5 inch drive space in your case.
You need a SATA 3 cable to connect to the motherboard and the SSD and one SATA power cable from the power supply. When installing programs, you are given the option to install on which drive you want. There are few programs where it is automatically installed on your C drive which is your first SSD.

If you need more storage, then getting a 1 or 2 TB hard drive is better than getting another SSD if you can fit a 3.5 inch drive.

its a desktop not a laptop and i have the correct cables, ie - the sata 3 cable and sata power from my psu, ive just never added a second so wasnt sure how to do it.
so say i added a 1tb hard drive how would i get all my steam games to load onto that rather than my ssd? as i only have 5 games on my ssd and with windows on it aswell i have very little room left, so id like to just get all my games onto the second hard drive.

You should be able to cut and paste your games onto a second hard drive once you make sure Steam knows the location to where you put them. You do this by going to Steam settings, Downloads tab and click on Steam Library folders.

ok so if i just plug a new 1tb hard drive in and every time i install a new steam/origin game i will be able to choose which hard drive i want to use, if thats the case then ile just leave the games i have at the moment on the ssd and just use the new hdd for extra games
