Hi there,

Hoping someone can help..
So I tried updating/installing the latest IDT Audio driver for my Elitebook 8560p, but get this error each time:
"The hardware detected is not supported by this IDT software package. The install will be aborted."

I'm pretty sure this is because I stupidly uninstalled IDT soon after getting the laptop.. I did this because I use a seperate audio interface for recording music and didn't want any conflicts. I didn't realize uninstalling this would disable the internal audio entirely (and irreversibly it seems)! My audio still works when I connect my external audio interface, but this is quite annoying as I have to bring the interface with me everywhere, like I can't just watch a Youtube video and listen through internal speaker or headphone output..I have to hook it up to my interface each time..urgh. My own fault I know, but I would have thought this driver installation package would work and put it back on my system..

So IDT is no longer listed in device manager, just the only the AMD HDMI Audio codec is listed. I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit and have tried the using the most up to date ITD driver from the HP website, and also an older version of the driver, both to no avail.

I remember reading a thread about this exact same problem ages ago, someone had done the same thing and was having the same problem re-enabling/re-installing it. I think he managed to find a fix that worked for him that involved removing the battery and holding the power button for 30 seconds, or something along those lines.. I remember trying that method by copying his instructions step-by-step, but it didn't work for me :smileysad:

Anyone know any kind of fix for this? Fingers crosed.

Many thanks for any help or advice in advance!

Lauren

well are you sure you downloaded the right one?? (maybe just like the DV6000 there were multiple versions. )

btw just incase try this download the lite ver. it will try to detect your hardware and install the driver http://drp.su/

Yep, I went to the HP website and chose my laptop model and OS and got the one listed there. I also tried using HP Recovery Manager, HP Support Assistant, and IObit Driver Booster Pro, all to no avail. I will give DriverPack Solution a try when I get home, thanks for the link.
