GPU that is a pci express 3.0 ready on a mobo 2.1x16

Could I use a GPU pci express 3.0x16 on my asus m3a mob 2.1 x 16?
Also my power supply is a antec earth watt 500w.
Any help will be appreciated

PCIe is a backward compatible interface. But ver 2.1 has been know to present issues with certain cards. Most work fine, though.

I really can't offer much advice as per the 500W PSU w/o knowing what card you want to run.
