Can you guys list the top 3 model/brand of the GTX 980?

I am upgrading my eVGAGTX 760acx 2gb to a GTX 980 next month and I love eVGA, but I heard that they are having some bad heat issues with the 980 series atm

Here is the card I am looking at

Is this the best one, or is there a faster/better version of the 980? Thanks.

Also going to need a new case with better wire management and bigger than what I have which is a Thermaltake V2

If you don't care much for looks I would still go for either the Gigabyte G1 or MSI Twin Frozr.

Also by ports I mean how many display ports, DVIs, HDMIs etc
They are all good, MSI, Asus, Gigabyte and EVGA. The issue with EVGA was misalignment on the heat pipes with the GPU cores on ACX version 1 coolers, now they have ver 2 with problem fixed. Although it was an issue it only let the cards run a little warmer than others but still well within thermal limits.

What do you mean by what "ports" I need?

To the other guy, thanks, I had not heard they fixed the eVGA version yet, if they did I may go for that.

Dont care too much for looks on graphic cards, I want performance. I am 36 in a week, I don't plan on having a bunch of people over and showcasing my pc to them, I just want the best performance I can get :bounce:

I've had experience with the Asus Strix and the Evga 980 SC ACX 2.0. The Evga is far quieter and runs cooler than the Asus but I preferred the look and overall quality of the Asus. The Asus fans got fairly loud during heavy gaming though so I went with the Evga which I highly recommend.

Bought one EVGA GTX 980 SC ACX 2.0 for client, and it's superb. In general all of the EVGA VGAs come heavily superior to my mind after a decade I use them. I'm running on GTX 780 SC ACX atm. [still] and she's full of surprises. So many games she shouldn't run at 2K in 35-60 fps range, and she did. I really love EVGA :)

"Poorest" brand out there for me personally [if I don't count PowerColor, and ManLi, which are both presumably dead] is loved and adored MSi. I put a lot of their products to RMA. Number one is notebooks, it's like all of the notebooks in the world came through my hands, that's my feeling at the end of the day. They call them "gaming" notebooks. Second huge massacre is their mobos, and third are VGAs.

But as I said, they are loved by many, so my experience "just doesn't count" in this case.

And in between, 2nd goes to ASUS, 3rd goes to GA, and there are some other brands on the market, that tend to be great, but we only have those four here in Slovakia, well, mostly.

P.S.: I'd also avoid Sapphire, PNY, HIS, Palit, and I heard that Zotac, XFX are a great choice too, though, I've had only few pieces at my palms over two decades I work with computers, so there's not much "experience" with these brands tbh.
