I recently bought an zotac gtx (970 reference). (In a z77 mobo + i5 3570k + 16 gb ram +750 W 80 bronze thermaltake)

I was a AMD gpu user, previous 7970, previous 7850. I never had issues with overclocking this card with amd overdrive (I like to set MHz of both the core and mem). Also used speedfan for fan-temp control.

But with this nvidia card, speedfan can't control gpu's fans, plus there is no official nvidia overclocking soft.

So I check the firestorm from zotac, and couldn't make the fan work with the profile I want, trash it.

Move to MSI Afterburner, the fan profile work nice here. However there is no absolute tune for setting the core and mem MHz. All I find is an offset bar... it sucks...

So I ask:
How to control the max core + mem frequency? Cuz I am having up to 1291 and 3506 MHz for the core and mem, and the ref values are 1076/1216MHz for the core and 7040MHz (effective???) for the mem...

With a temp range of 29ºC - 61ºC

Nevermind, afterbuner is weird in measuring the clocks. With GPU-z I see the nominal values.

OC:
1366 Core + 1928 Mem --> max temp on with stock cooler 67ºC.
