After my computer started acting up, it finally refused to boot from hibernation. I've been able to hook the sata HDDs to another computer and see the files, but in bios they do not seem to be recognized on this computer. Attempted fresh reinstall of Windows XP a couple times with old ata HDDs, but will only load in safe mode for Windows XP, or from CD for Unbuntu.
I also tried swapping out the RAM to see if that was the problem, and I got a rapid beeping noise (apparently too advanced of RAM, or I pushed it in too hard). After putting the original RAM back in, it continued to have the rapid beep. In a last ditch effort, I moved the RAM to the third or four slots and the RAM worked again, which I thought was impossible without RAM in the first slot, but it glad it worked.
So now I am back to not being able to load windows except in safe mode, and unable to fully install Ubuntu (screen goes blank after installing for a long time), just using it now from the CD.
Is this a mobo issue? Is there a way to be sure? My mobo is a T Series TA780GM2+ if that helps.
Thanks in advance for any advice!
