Catalyst video driver not installing correctly

I'm trying to install drivers to my ati mobility radeon hd 5850 graphic card. After I install AMD Catalyst package 14.9 with the drivers from support.amd.com it seems I have no driver installed afterward. I can only have the resulotions 1024 x 768 or 800 x 600 and it's not working as it should. Anyone have any idea on what I can do to fix this?

I have windows 7.

Thanks, I'll try installing an older version of it and see if it works ok.
