With the help of this board, my son and I built a gaming computer last Christmas and it is still running great. After the build however, I completely flushed that knowledge down the drain......not proud of that, just being honest.

I now need to replace his 500GB data drive with a 1TB. Is it possible to migrate the data over, as in cloning, so I can just swap the drives out? If so, what is the easiest and cheapest method? Trying to do this in such a way that I do not disrupt his Steamover settings with the data drive if that makes sense.

Thank you!

Solution
You could just add 1TB hard drive to his existing 500GB giving him 1.5TB to use.
You just need a space for the hard drive, and one SATA 3 cable and one SATA power cable from the psu.

Yeah I agree with @Suztera. There shoud be an extra sata power cable coming from the psu and there should also be another sata data cable. Then hook the 2 up with the 1Tb hard drive then you'll have a 1.5Tb.
