It will run it fine. A 970 would run it fine too.

I would be more worried about your CPU. Arma 3 only uses two cores and you need all the single core processing power you can get. What CPU do you have?

You'll be fine then. I play Arma 3 with an MSI 970 and a 4790K; I get anywhere from sub 20 FPS to well over 100 FPS (FPS depends on the server). The game is poorly optimized and even the best hardware will have some trouble running it at times, it is just the game.

I recommend getting a 970 and saving yourself the money. At 1080p or even 1440p a 970 will do great and a 980 won't help you with Arma 3.
