Should I upgrade old ddr 1600 ram from four years ago

My buddy help me build a gaming pc four years ago and I have upgraded my graphics cards, chip, ssd. I still have my old 8 gb of ram installed and was wondering would it be worth it to upgrade to the newer ram with higher speeds? Thanks in advance

From 4 years ago, I'd simply wait until you decide to upgrade mobo and CPU, wouldn't really be cost effective and prob can't really handle much faster DRAM, unless thinking of jumping to 16GB or something like that

Hello... it is up to your MB BIO's and Memory controller if you can run faster RAM... upgrading RAM speed is the least effective per $$$ upgrade you could make.
What is your Current CPU MB Video card etc?
By the way your investment in your DDR3 has about Doubled since you bought it, if you consider selling it.
