Low FPS In-Game on Good Rig

My Specs:
i5-3570k
Radeon HD 7870
RAM: 16GB
120GB Kingston SSD
H100i Water Cooler
Windows 7 Ultimate - 64 bit

My Issue:
Whenever I try to play CSGO (remains untested for other games) on this computer, I get horrid drops in FPS. I'm playing the game at the lowest possible settings (when I know it should be able to handle it very close to its highest settings quite well), and within a span of 1 minute max my starting FPS of 200-300 drops significantly to 20-40. It gets to a point where the game is unplayable. It used to work perfectly fine on the computer and this a new issue that's developed recently. I tried doing a fresh install of Windows 7, downloaded the game and the issue is still ongoing. All my drivers are up to date, and the chipset for the processor is installed. I'm at a loss for why my FPS is so low, when I know it should be significantly higher. Any help or tips anyone can give would be greatly appreciated, as I can't find much info anywhere else as to what may be causing my problem. Thanks.

sounds like a power or heat issue.

Install msi afterburner and start looking at temps, should be easy to determine the cause of fps suddenly just dropping so massively.

After monitoring it quickly with hwmonitor in-Game, the GPU temp hovers around 41.6C (idle around 30), and the CPU between 101-103 (idle 90-95). I'm not sure what would constitute a low or high temp, or if these are low / high for the load. Also if they are high, what would be a good course of action as far as fixing it?

If you haven't cleaned your computer in a while I would make sure you dont have dust buiding up in the heatsinks of your CPU and GPU. That usually causes heat issues. if It's 100 degrees celcius im pretty sure that's too hot, but i could be wrong

If cleaning don't help maybe get arctic silver thermal paste. Hope it helps.

So I guess my question now becomes do I try and reinstall my h100i with new paste or do I put my stock fan back in and contact corsair about a faulty pump in my unit? If my temps are that abnormal, perhaps the pump failed even though it lights up and seems functional?

Have you checked fans are actually spinning? You may also need to check voltage to the cpu just to be safe it is not user/auto set error.

Barring those issues the h100 has failed or there is an installation issue, either way you need to get those temps under control.

When you re-install it you will need new thermal paste, and make sure it is correctly positioned.

yes, firstly re-seat the block with new thermal paste. check the fans are spinning. But it sounds like it could be a dead pump if those 2 things arent the problem. Fix it asap before you cook your cpu.
