I was wondering your guys' opinions on if I should disable turbo to go from ~4.4GHz 4790k to 4GHz to decrease heat. Under a load, such as playing Ethan Carter my CPU temps would go up to 70 for split seconds and usually hover in the 60's. I then turned off Turbo and temps never went above low 50s. Do you guys think sacrificing ~400Mhz is worth decreasing temps from around 70c to 50's? I have been told the 4790k runs hot and I'm running a Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO.

Built: 10/28/14
Specs: i7 4790k @ 4Ghz
CM Hyper 212 EVO
Asus Strix GTX970 4GB OC
8GB Ripjaws 1600Mhz
Asus Maximus Hero VI
Corsair HX750
Win7 Ultimate x64

Solution
My 4690k (usually needs a bit less voltage, and is a bit cooler) runs at 4.5 @ 1.25V. So for 4.4 you should probably need around that same voltage.
Still, there's absolutely no problem with the temps at low or mid 70s.

First make sure ur cpu cooler is sitted properly..reapply thermal paste and remount it properly.. if u get the same results then set core voltage to manual and set it at 1.15v for first..it should be fine.. mine runs at 1.10v at 4.4ghz
