First off let me say that the problem is resolved. I'm posting this here to see if anybody could explain why this happened. For a long time now, I've used NCH Switch audio converter for my converting needs. A few days ago, I created a folder on my desktop and gave the program about 10 files to convert from MP3 to Ogg.
Half way through the process, windows explorer crashed. It then proceeded to restart and then immediately crash again continually. Safe mode didn't help and I eventually fixed the problem by booting from a live Linux dvd and deleting that folder I mentioned before.
After I got back into my pc, I checked my event viewer and it had logged about 150 crashes with the details I'm about to post:
I've never had a problem with the K-Lite codec pack or the NCH software before. Does anybody know what went wrong?
