Hi guys,

I installed Win8.1update1pro64 on my main rig to try it out and it was all fine and dandy but when I tried to use my floppy drive it wasn't showing in Explorer like it was in Win7pro64sp1.

And before anyone asks, "WHY DO YOU USE A FLOPPY DRIVE???", I work on older computers with no usb or in some cases no optical drive.

In device manager there is "Standard floppy controller" but there is no "Generic floppy disk" like i remember being there in Win7pro64sp1.

I have ASRock Z77 Extreme6 motherboard

I tried micro$oft support but they just asked me to tell me the specs of my pc but then nicked off so...

Any ideas?

Is this an internal or external floppy drive? Is there floppy support drivers from the Motherboard manufacturer? If it is external, have you been able to find drivers for that?

If none of those work, have you tried going to Programs and Features and on the left side click on Turn on and off windows features and checked to see if there is an option to enable it under Windows Legacy Components?

Both drive and board connector is keyed, and it worked fine in Win7pro64sp1

There's no floppy driver on ASrock's website, it worked fine in Windows 7. There is no option in Legacy components.

Didn't make a difference.
