What would be the best build for around £900 ($1400)?

I'm looking for some help as I have a budget of around £900 and i would like a PC that could run high end games well. Any feedback would be apreciated!

Looks good, although the build doesn't include a case or an HDD, only an SSD.

Check again, as there is a case (full tower) and the reason for no HDD was my friend has a spare already. That build is only $1200 btw, so do what you will with the extra $200

I would prefer to build myself

On the list I put together, I future proofed it a bit to play next gen games on high fps/graphics, but if you can give me an example on your monitor resolution and what games you plan on playing, I can adjust it a little to make it more affordable

My monitor res is 1920x1080p with a 60Hz refresh rate.
If you could compile a more complete list that'd be great as I'm planning on selling my current PC and then upgrading completely, with no parts leftover.

Updated the list, but it's a little over your budget, so if that isn't do-able, tell me what kind of games you plan on playing and I'll try to clear up any thought you might have on what you'll need and how much it will be

This current build will play games like Skyrim w/ ENB mods at 70 fps on high graphics as well as games like Assassin's Creed: Black Flag on 60 fps

How well would this setup run ArmA 3?

You have to know that the engine running Arma is not very optimized or stable, but on that note, max settings will get you close to 30 fps avg. Nobody plays that game on max settings anyway, because even a gtx titan will get low fps

honestly the parts you picked don't seem to get the most out of my budget, for example, the RAM is only 8GB and I don't need an SSD.

8GB RAM is enough and I left room for future upgrading to 16GB, but you can add more if you like.
An SSD is almost essential nowadays, but if you prefer to ditch it, then you can take the HDD on the list off aswell and just buy a 1TB performance HDD like a Western Digital Black 1TB HDD

Conclusion, with your budget, this is future proof to an extent and will run high-end games at high fps/graphics. Maybe you are expecting too much for this budget

Oh, sorry. Wrong thread. That build is identical to mine but cheaper brands, slower GPU, and an unlocked CPU. Either suggestion won't change much though

Not much cheaper, but I picked out of trusted companies and quality from my view.
Like the above poster, I say just get an AMD build since it fits your budget

EDIT: How is that better RAM?
If anything, the RAM I picked is better
