Getting a new laptop soon, but was wondering if the one I have now could possibly run DayZ standalone. I don't wanna buy it for 30 bucks and not be able to play it, I have a Toshiba satellite c655 1.3 ghz AMD e-300 radeon hd graphics. know absolutely nothing about computers.

For a new laptop to play any type of newer games even at low settings, you will be looking at the $500 price point, that is at least. At that price the game will load but will likely run a bit slow.
For a laptop for games, the entry point for a normal one is about $1,000.
The laptop you have is made for low end use like documents and video/music.
