Is there any PC (preferably prebuilt) with an i7 (4790 preferably 4790k) and a good graphics card (like a GTX 750) for under $900?

Edit: It will also have to include Windows 8.1

The reason I need the i7 is because of the amount of threads it has. I will also be using this computer for compiling so the extra threads will help alot (I can do more jobs).

I mean how much better will the GTX 960 be than the 760 when it comes out. And how much of a difference is the 4770 vs 4790?

The specs for the GTX960 are speculative. It should be a little better at least and use less power, but....

The i7 4790 is about 16% faster and you can notice the difference.

If you buy all the bits from the store, they often charge very reasonable prices to assemble them. Even if you buy the bits mostly elsewhere, you can pay to have it assembled. Perhaps that is a better choice?

Alternatively, get a good CPU and no GPU, but with a motherboard that will take one, and add your own GPU. You will need to check that the PSU will handle the load and has the connectors.

The trouble with pre-built gamers is that most of them cut corners with the PSU and I don't like that.

How quiet would this be? The reviews for the Acer Predator say that it is very quiet.

There's always a problem :(

That particular GPU draws its power from the PCI-e and so there will be no connector on the PSU to drive another card. The best currently available card that will fit is the GTX 750ti, some versions of which will plug straight in. Since the PCIe is limited to 60W, the GTX960 will be too powerful to run without extra power.

The PSU on the XPS 8700 is 460 watts and has 2 6 pin connectors

This particular XPS has a GT 720 so I will be replacing it with a GTX 650 that I already have until the GTX 960 comes out.

One last thing, Do you think the GTX 960 will work with a 460 watt psu?
