SLI'ing the same GPU, but from different companies

Hey all,

I have recently bought an MSI GTX 970 and only two days I realised it sagged more than I thought it would sag, and my next build is going to reuse that GTX 970.

I have plan in mind to use Gigabyte Z97X gaming GT as my next motherboard, but I plan to insert a Wireless adapter in the PCI slot on the bottom of the board (IE below the second card, on the bottom-most PCI lane.), and I don't think I will get another MSI GTX 970 in case if it sags too much and touches the Wireless adapter. The Wireless adapter in question is either of Asus PCE-AC56u or Asus PCE-AC68u

1. Would I be ok for SLI'ing if my second 970 I decide to get a Gigabyte version of 970 for the bottom card? I think the backplate on the Gigabyte would help with the sagging

2. Would you recommend it?

3. Am I overthinking this sagging problem too much? It seems the adapter card is rather short and it should clear of any sag from the GPU..

Thanks in advance!

Solution
well some cards dont always fit the cases just put the plate that goes on top the gpu and screw it in if you dont like the whole sagging thing then yes upgrade you motherboard and case if you want and put the other card in the so it does not sag

One end of the card was noticeably lower than the other end when my case was standing (IE when the GPU was horizontal). I'll have to examine how much it was sagging once I get home later (in 9 hours time T_T). I don't remember it happening to the same degree as my previous Asus GTX 570 with reference cooler, but all I remember was I was slightly shocked at how it looked from a distance when I was getting my dealer to air blow the case for me.
