Mix Slow RAM With Fast RAM: Slow RAM As HDD Cache?

I currently have 6GB (1x 2GB 1x4GB) of 1333MHz RAM at 8-8-8-24. I will be buying 16GB (2x 8GB) of 1600MHz or 1866MHz RAM at 9-9-9-24 or better. I'm currently using 1GB of my current RAM as cache for my HDDs with slightly noticeable results. Would I be able to use the current RAM at its current speed and timings all as cache while also having the new RAM at its rated speed and timings doing its normal functions? Speed is more important to me than data integrity, so don't try to convince me not to cache with RAM. Thank you in advance.

Current hardware other than RAM:
447GB 3x laptop HDDs in RAID0
1TB Seagate ST310005 24as
ASUS Z97-PRO
Intel i5-4690k @ 4.2GHz
NVIDIA GeForce GT 640 1GB

Solution
mixing/matching ram speeds/types is a hit and miss. May work ok, but may cause errors, crashes, etc. as has been said, 16gb is plenty, even if you allocate 1-2gb of cache.

buy a small SSD for your cached ram ditch the 1333mhz ram it will force a downclock of the new faster ram and possibly slower timings to find common compatible latencies 16GB is more than ample for what you want to do even with out an SSD or the old memory.

your board also has the option for an mSATA SSD drive which works as a RAMdisk also.
