I just want something that will play games a little better like WoW and FPS type games I currently get around 60-70ish fps but during heavy loads its like 20-40 and on WoW in groups of more than 20 ppl it goes down to 10 fps during peak times of battle im pretty sure my GPU is fine but I dont think my current motherboard supports it very well due to the pcie difference pretty sure my board has 2.0 while the card uses 3.0 and my processor is quadcore but only 2.6 GHz so do u guys feel if I upgrade the board and cpu to something like 3.5 GHz or so I will get better frames under big loads?

I been wanting to upgrade but would like some feedback 1st b4 I spend the $ im on a budget so try to keep it as cheap as possible but also with getting more power than I currently have I dont need to run games at 4k res at 100 fps I just want something decent that will compliment the rest of my system well and run 1080p easily and steadily at around 60 FPS without it dropping during heavy loads

If there is a slightly better cpu that my board can use than ill just upgrade CPU and keep old board

I think I found a decent upgrade think this will be a good 1?http://products.amd.com/en-us/DesktopCPUDetail.aspx?id=714&f1=&f2=&f3=&f4=&f5=&f6=&f7=&f8=&f9=&f10=&f11=&f12=

Solution
check the motherboards cpu support list
Yes if your processor only clocks to 2.6 Ghz the extra cpu horsepower will help .

pci-e 2 or 3 makes no difference

you may have to change the power supply too , but if you are just changing the processor you should be OK
