Hey, I work in 3D Animation and do some video editing and after effects work on the side. Not a gamer at all. Been changing my mind quite a bit with this computer build but I think 6-core will be the best way to go, as MAYA will thank me later. The final specs will be as follows...Let me know if I'm missing anything. Thanks

- My friend has a Gold 750W power supply
- And a 2TB Hard Drive for more storage

Solution

Go with 4X4GB or RAM for now and add another four sticks later. For what you are doing, the four channels are needed.

I plan to add more ram in the future, but for now I'm just grabbing 16GB... Would I really notice lack of performance if I didn't have four channels? Also is there a reason why I should switch to the AsRock X99 Extreme 4?

I was trying to keep it cheaper and it has been selected my many people in general. Do you have a budget?
