Hello, my build is from 2011 and I'd like to start upgrading! If possible, I'd like to switch over to a haswell chip but other than that I'm open to suggestions. Here is my current build.

AMD Athlon II X3 450

PowerColor AX6770 1GBD5-H Radeon HD 6770 1GB

4gb DDR3 1600

MSI 760GM-P33 AM3 AMD 760G Micro ATX AMD Motherboard

500W Power Supply

500gb 7200 rpm Hard Drive

Thanks!

Not a definite budget, but I'd like to replace parts over the next year to build a rig capable of running modern games. I'm basically looking for ideas of what to shoot for first. I also have never upgraded a build, only built from scratch, so I'm not very familiar with just buying a new graphics card that may get bottlenecked by the cpu or maybe isnt compatible with the mobo or something. So I'm just looking for some general advice on the build and also things to be aware of when upgrading certain parts.

well, it would be easier to answer your question if you filled the questionnaire from my signature (bottom right)

if you're upgrading with a decent amount of money, you might as well get a completely new system because that motherboard is really old to get a new CPU and if you just get a new GPU, the CPU will definitely bottleneck it.

close to the 800 USD mark. I'd have to make major changes if you need to include a monitor within this.
