Hey. I just got a new computer and have some questions about first setup.

Computer:
Motherboard: Asus h87 plus
Graphic : NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760
Processor: Intel Core i5 4670
SSD : 840 evo (250gb)
HDD: Western Digital WDC WD10EZEX-08M2NA0 ATA Device (SATA)

So my first question is. I was reading about this marvel 6g drivers and there were a lot of people reporting some issues with them. My motherboard has 6 6gsata ports. Windows will be on ssd. My question is do i need to install them ?

For sata drivers i only need to install Intel(R) Rapid Storage Technology Driver if i understand correctly. I dont need to install smart response, connect and rapid start right ?

On my motherboard site, under the chipset there are 3 different drivers. Management Engine Interface, Intel(R) Chipset Software Installation Utility and Intel Chipset Driver. Do i need to install all three ?

Under the VGA section there is Intel Graphics Accelerator Driver. Do i need to install this one, since i have already installed my GTX 760 driver?

And the last question that i have is about the SSD. Do i need to install the new firmware on my ssd ?

Ty for all your answers in advance. These drivers are always bothering me and i hope you guys will explain it =)

The marvel sata are just a couple extra Sata drives if you need them. They are best for storage HDDs or optical drives, so if you dont need all the, you don't need to install or use them.
- yes install all three of those drivers.
- The vga driver is only for the one on the back of the motherboard for integrated video.
- You should always update firmware/bios/drivers when available. you can always go to the SSD manufacturer and see exactly what the update does and if you think you shouldn't need it you don't have to. Read it carefully cause in some cases it can mess things up.

Only thing about not installing some of these drivers is you may get windows trying to install them and giving you notifications or errors that it can't find a good match and then you will get the yellow "!" in your driver list. You can ignore it if you want.

So if i get this right now i dont need to install the marvel sata6 drivers and the ssd will work at its high speed? I look at the manual of the motherboard and it says that all sata connectors are intel ones. Do i need any extra drivers for those ones or will the intel rapid storage driver do the work.

About that vga driver. Do i need it since i have drivers for my main graphic card? Are drivers that windows provides them enough for that intel integrated graphic card ?

If you want to use the two sata ports that are marvel, you need to install those drivers. There are Intel sata ports and Marvel sata ports. You don't have to use the Marvel ones if you don't want to.

The vGA drive is only if you are going to use the monitor connected to the back of the motherboard.

They will often use the same installation files for many different types of motherboards (some which may or may not have all the items) so they can mass produce them and just slap different labels on them.
