Hi everyone,

I've decided to do my 1st build.

CPU Intel Core i5-4690K 3.5GHz Quad-Core
CPU Cooler Thermalright Macho rev.A
Motherboard Asus Z97-A LGA1150
Memory Crucial Ballistix 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1866
Storage Crucial MX100 256GB SATA 2.5" 7mm Internal Solid State Drive
Storage Seagate Barracuda 2 TB HDD SATA 6 Gb/s NCQ 64MB Cache 3.5-Inch
Video Card MSI GeForce GTX 780 Ti 3GB TWIN FROZR OC
Case NZXT Phantom 410 black mid tower
Power Supply EVGA supernova 750G2 750W
Optical Drive LG Electronics Optical DVD Drive GH24NSB0B
OS Windows 7 HP 64bit SP1

The GPU delivery was going to be a week longer then the rest of my components so I set up the system using the integrated graphics. Everything went great. I installed the gpu and when I turn on the system I get 1" green lines all over the screen. When the "starting windows" screen comes up (still with all the green lines) the systems stops working and I get the blue screen and then the system won't boot up. I remove to gpu and the system fires right up. I checked the bios and the gpu setting is set to auto.
Any ideas?

why are you using 331.82? there are far newer drivers.... 344.48...
http://www.nvidia.com/download/driverResults.aspx/78873/en-us

you dont need to uninstall the intel hd drivers, that has nothing to do with this. you either have other driver issues or your card is bad. im guessing the later unfortunately, but you can try cleaning up since it wont hurt anything.

try ccleaner to clean up disk crap and also clean the registry.

then try ddu.

let it do the recommended clean safe mode restart uninstall of the nvidia drivers. then reinstall the latest nvidia gpu drivers.
nvidia uninstall notoriously leaves things behind that can cause issues.

nice build you got there. but unfortunately...

I uninstalled the driver. Now under the device manager I have just have a "standard vga graphics adapter". I tried the card again and got the same results. Should I also uninstalled the NVidia graphics driver (version 331.82) and reinstall when asked at start up? Thanks.

nice build you got there. but unfortunately it really does sound like a bad card. is there anyway to test a different monitor output port on the 780ti?

Thanks for all the help guys. Took the card into work today and our systems manager tested the card and he was getting the same thing I was. Bad card. He gave me a old gpu so I now know my mobo is working.

Thanks again!!!
