HP 2000 2D70DX Laptop
Quad Core
AMD A6-5200 APU with Radeon HD Graphics

Operating system: Windows 10 'Technical Preview'

details -
So I have windows 10 technical preview installed. But this is no problem to any incompatibility issues, trust me. This is because the entire preview build is based on windows 8.1 (So it is recognized as such).

I've successfully downloaded Ubuntu from http://www.ubuntu.com/download/desktop
and did everything correctly. I'm trying to dual boot windows 10 (8.1) with Ubuntu. And it really should be no problem. I made a bootable USB Stick with Ubuntu and it starts up just fine. But in the setup menu where it should say "Install Ubuntu Alongside with windows" appears otherwise. It shows 'This computer currently has no detected operating systems'. I've searched online that some people have had the same problems, but I haven't really found a solution. I don't know if it has something to do with EFI Boot or whatever. But either way, I cant turn those off. Most I can do is enable/disable Legacy Support and secureboot. Unless someone can show me otherwise. But anyway, whatever the problem is, please help me out on this :(

You may be able to dual boot with Windows 10, but don't quote me on that.

Currently I am running UEFI and triple booting Windows 8.1, Ubuntu 13.10, and Fedora 19 just fine. I use a tool called rEFInd, which you may find of some use.

You can take a read through his website here: http://www.rodsbooks.com/refind/

Youll have to turn off secure boot, and hibernation, once you do that, you follow his instructions on getting onto the efi system partition. Once you do that then you can side load another OS that uses EFI, it will automatically pick up any new EFI os managers when that splash screen is displayed.

I hope that helps!
