Hi Everyone, First time posting on this forum, been Googling with no results.

So the situation is when one computer on my network starts to download it starts to slow the bandwidth down of the rest of the network. That would be the more general situation, but to be specific. I am a gamer I play League Of Legends in the servers with 68 ping, but when my parents start to stream stuff over this "TVpad" which is a Chinese version of the AppleTV, I begin to experience twice the ping i normally get and sometimes I get all the way up to 300-500 ping.

That just one scenario, another one would be that say for instance my brother is downloading something, usually torrent, I experience a drop in bandwidth, so much that I cannot watch Youtube or Netflix.

My ISP is Comcast and I've been using Speedtest.net to test my bandwidth which is 10-11 ping and at 60+Mbps. But when the streaming/downloading begins, it's all over the place.

I don't think this is normal, is it my network settings?

what are your connection specs?if you have a slower connection you very well might notice a slowdown when other computers on your network are streaming, downloading etc.every device on your network takes some of your connection bandwidth and in doing so slows down your connection.

If that's the case, there would be nothing you can do, except asking them to limit their broadband usage (like a download speed limiter).
I have the same problem in my house, but with a much worse connection... I only have 1mbps download, and when anyone starts using Netflix my LoL ping goes up to 1k+...
My record so far was 18.000ms ping ._.

This is normal. Downloads and streams take up as much bandwidth as they can grab. Could be a cheap router, a good router with configurable limits to bandwidth use for certain systems may help. Something in the $100+ range. 60 meg download speeds is very good, I think a good router that is configured properly will help a lot.
