Ive had the SeaGate HDD for three years now and have done few fresh OS installs. Im curious how many times Id be able to do that before it crashes or begins to slow. Ive noticed Startup take longer than usual. Thanks for any help!

Solution
^^^ this and installing windows fresh on the hdd requires only about 30gb of writing and your software installs which is not much considering the drive capacity. You can reinstall it about 15 times before its a full drive rewrite and hdd's can last hundreds if not thousands of rewrites.
as far as i know there is no reliable way to determine how long a hdd will last.ive got a couple of 12 year old maxtors that still work.slow startup is probably not caused by a problem with your hdd.to make startup quicker run the following command with win7. msconfig . once in system configuration select the startup tab and uncheck anything you dont need to start with windows.this will speed your boot times.if you uncheck something you need to run at startup just go back into system configuration and check the box.if you are running win8 you use task manager to stop programs from starting with windows.

youre saying that I can install my OS+software 15times befire it uses one of the potential hundreds of rewrites a hdd can handle?
