I recently bought a Dell Inspiron with an AMD Radeon R7 M260 graphics card. Here is the Amazon link if anyone is interested in the full specs (Dell Inspiron i5547-15001sLV).

Whenever I play a game that indicates my graphics card it always states that my Intel HD graphics is being used. By default both the Intel HD Graphics and my AMD card is enabled. However, when I disable my Intel HD Graphics rather than saying that my AMD card is being used, it says the Microsoft Basic Rendering card is being used. I also get some error saying "No AMD graphics driver is installed or the amd driver is not functioning properly". I tried uninstalling and re-installing the AMD graphics card, but I am still having these issues. In fact, the issue is not just for games. When I disable my Intel Graphics card, it won't even let me project to a second monitor. How can I get my AMD Graphics card to work and have applications use it instead of my Intel HD graphics card?

Before I do any full re-install, I was doing some research and is it possible that the AMD card is running simultaneously with the Intel Graphics Card and it needs the Intel Card to work? I was looking at the laptop specs again and it says that the AMD card is a graphics coprocessor. Or should the AMD card be able to work on its own?

I'm not sure what you mean when you're saying intel graphics card but I think you mean the integrated graphics on the intel cpu. No, the intel integrated graphics cannot run simultaneously with amd card. By this I mean that the cpu and the amd card can be in the same system, but they just cant be both at the same time. So if you enable intel graphics, amd is disabled, but if you enable amd, intel graphics are disabled. The amd graphics card should work with you current system so long as you install it properly and install the drivers properly. In this case I believe you os didn't get used to the hardware changes.
