Lag Spikes every 20 seconds or so on Minecraft and TF2.

Well, this lag spikes began happening a few days ago and I don't know what might be causing them. I have to say this problem has been destroying my game life and quite frankly I don't know what to do. I've googled the issue many times but I can't seem to find the answer. Specs? Specs:

does it only happen in those games? Also are any other programs open while playing those games? Drivers all updated? playing alone or online with a bunch of other people?

Well, the problem seems to be gone now after defragmenting the hard drive. Defragmenting the registry and defragmenting the hard drive are two different things apparently. Thanks for the help.

Well thats all good, fragmentation slow down your system a lot.
