need help regarding adding additional storage

i got a new rig with 1tb hdd with win7 64bit os installed
i want to add my old 320gb hdd with win7 32bit os installed
i will use 1tb as primary hdd and 320gb as additional storage
so my questions 1)will the os in 320gb affect the new os in anyway?
2)will it ask me to format the 320gb hdd after i plug it in for the first time?(there is lot of stuff in my old hdd which i don't wanna delete)

What will probably happen is that you will be asked which drive you want to boot to. Once you boot off the new drive you could: move the stuff on the old drive over to the new; format the old; move the stuff back to the clean drive or open the old drive and delete all the windows files and settings folders. This is a real pain since windows scatters some things around and you will find the windows files/folders locked. You will need to take possession of them all before you can delete them. The best and least painful way is to move out what you want to keep-format-move the data back.
