how many times have you guys reseated your cpu?

Solution
There is no reason to reseat the CPU other than computer troubleshooting or CPU replacement.

I haven't reseated any of my current CPU's.
as a pc tech most times I replaced cpu were when the cpu fan failed on a units and after replacing the cpu fan and running test the system was not stable till a cpu was replaced. only other times were when a power supply metled the mb and cpu or during shipping of a pc usp/fed-x played kick the pc and the heat sink ripped the cpu off the mb.

yeah im just gonna leave it alone are there any test i can do to comfim that its running fine. i ran cinebench r15 and multithreading was 596 and single thread was 153. is that normal? and what does cinebench actually test for processing power?

well i actually just retested cinebench single thread and got 150, but that was with skype running.

You need to loose that OCD compulsion when it comes to Intels pin in socket design, there is a really good reason the motherboard comes with a protective cover over the pins, because if you damage those delicate pins your motherboard warranty is gone!

You can only seat the CPU one way so seat it, clamp down the locking arm, and leave it alone, because if the CPU slips out of your fingers and falls into the socket interior, it will seriously damage the pins.

It is nerve racking enough getting it seated the first time without doing it again!

Any electronic component is vulnerable to static discharge; the more you handle them, the more the chance of that happening. And you only need to read these forums to discover the number of people who manage to bend a CPU pin or break one off.

yes of course, i was refering to normal usage

Would you consider regularly reseating your CPU (the topic under discussion) to be "normal usage" or to put the CPU at greater risk of damage from static discharge?

Your scores are normal for stock clock speed. Stop reseating it, you are just increasing the chance that you will break something.
