Solution
The GTX 850M is where you should watch out as there are two different models; one with DDR3 VRAM and one with GDDR5. Avoid the DDR3 version like the plague. Other than that, it's a fine gaming laptop. Not great, but good enough. Whether or not it'll be "good enough" in 2018 is debateable. My suspicion would be no.

Sometimes people need mobility. Not everyone can live with a desktop, what i would do is buy that laptop with the beefiest gpu you can get or afford. That cpu is very good and the ram can always be upgraded later on if needed. Right now 8 gb RAM is fine for gaming, 16 gb RAM is overkill.
