I have a practically new laptop that was (to some extent) designed to play games. These, however, have been running abnormally slow. From one day to the other, my best games stated running like I was using my old Spectrum to run Crysis. I'm serious the change is so dratic it's been driving me insane. I have run the ativirus on full analysis several times. I have noticed a mild difference sine then but most games still run awfully. Is there any acheivable solution?

Hello,

a laptop being new doesn't necessarily mean it's powerful or particularly good for games. Having said that you need to make sure you have installed the latest drivers for your graphics card. Also (if games start well at first and slow down after some time of gameplay) you have to check if your laptop isn't overheating.

You can try downloading HWinfo http://www.hwinfo.com/download.php. Download it, install it, run it with a tick on "Sensors Only". Play a game until it starts to "slow down" and then check the CPU and GPU temps - min, max and current. Post the results here if you want.
