Hi all,
I decided to build a high-end gaming PC a while back, and I have been working on the part list for a while, but as I have no experience with this, I was wondering if you guys could take a look at it. I'm basically at my budget right now (I could maybe go a little higher), and I'm also thinking about setting up multiple monitors, so if anyone has any recommendations for a cheaper (but around the same level of quality) monitor, that would be greatly appreciated. I will also be using this PC for some video editing and game design. Also, not sure if this part fits into components, but I'm also looking for a cheaper mouse and keyboard (but both have to be for gaming). Any and all recommendations for improvement on this build are welcome.
This is my part list.
Thanks,
Sam

I use a Saitek eclipse keyboard and a Razor DeathAdder mouse. I doesn't look like they make the eclipse keyboard anymore, and the deathadder is about $50 less then the one you have. I have the red backlit Saitek KB and have been using it every day for 5 years without any issues, bought it to replace a blue backlit Saitek that was still in good working order. Just sits in the box waiting for the day I will need it again.
Is there a reason for windows 7 ultimate? You could drop down to home premium max ram is 16gb or bump up to pro that maxes out at 192Gb.

I haven't heard to many people use a Seagate SSD, for the same price I would look at the Samsung 840 or intel 730 SSD's

I have two asus 26" monitors and love them, I would recommend not changing the 23.6's to anything else.

For system builds, my recommendation is always to make your money count so you're not forced to replace components in 2-3 years when you're dissatisfied with the performance. Also, you might as well bite the bullet and go to Win 8.1 Pro instead of Win 7 Ultimate. If Windows 10 were closer around the corner, I would say hold off but I am guessing you're going to build before next year.

My opinion: swap your SSD for a 250GB Samsung 840 EVO, not familiar with that ram maker (I usually prefer Corsair but everyone has a favorite), go with the EVGA ACX version of the 980 - stock overclocked and the cooler is solid on it, I also prefer Corsair for bang for your buck and reliability on power supplies (using a 850 W pro series). http://pcpartpicker.com/p/ffcqWZ

hi (again) faalin, thanks for repling and I have changed my OS to professional and my SSD to intel 730 series. Also, do you have any thoughts in the mouse and keyboard? I would like to find something cheaper, yet still good and fit for gaming. Lastly, yes, I guess I will just get a second Asus, but for that to happen, I need to cut down my cost in other aspects (perferrably, again, the mouse and keyboard.)
Thanks so much.
Sam

Thanks, I'll take this into consideration. Are there any cheaper gaming mice / keyboards out there that you can think of (that are still good quality)
Thanks,
Sam
